Sanitized TH 22-27 antimicrobial treatment promotes freshness and sustainability<br />

Sanitized AG, the worldwide leader in antimicrobial hygiene protection, is releasing an improved version of Sanitized® TH 22-27 to the North American market. This antimicrobial treatment was developed as a hygienic textile finish used especially on synthetic and wool fabrics with direct skin contact and that may require high-wash durability. These include clothing textiles such as underwear, outerwear, work wear, sportswear, outdoor wear, and shoes.

Sanitized® TH 22-27 was developed and is produced in Switzerland. It has a reliable and durable antimicrobial effect against bacteria, destabilizing the bacterial cell wall and deactivating bacteria that cause unpleasant odors in clothing worn during daily exercise, at home, at work or playing sports.

By using an adapted version of Sanitized® TH 22-27, freshness can also be extended to home textiles. These home textiles include carpets, textile wall coverings, upholstery fabric, indoor furniture, sleeping bags, sun blinds, umbrellas, shoe linings, and automotive textiles. Also included are bedding textiles such as covers for pillows and duvets, mattress protectors, and bed linens.

Environmental concerns

Consumers should know that antimicrobial-treated products provide two advantages: (1) they require less laundering and (2) can be laundered at lower water temperatures. With its built-in deodorant effect, customers may wear the clothing items several times before washing them. As a result, clothing lasts longer.

At the beginning of product development, Sanitized AG determines and evaluates any air pollution emission values and waste water contamination for its final formulation. These values serve as the basis for the recommendations given to the textile finishers and mills. In addition, low application concentrations are needed which translate to reduced packaging and waste volumes as well as lower transportation and storage costs.

Also, Sanitized AG strives to develop technologies and procedures that either work without water or with minimum water usage.

Sanitized® TH 22-27 carries bluesign® approval, the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (class I-IV), and is Allergy UK registered.

For over 50 years, Sanitized AG has used the latest technology to develop individual antimicrobial hygiene solutions. The company also offers support for marketing and technical queries, comprehensive testing services, and a universally recognized brand and licensing concept. Sanitized AG customers and license partners receive all products and services through the worldwide marketing network of a partner company Clariant International, a specialist in textile finishing and plastics additives.
