Banner Creations’ eco-friendly tote bags garner attention

Banner Creations, a Minneapolis, Minn., manufacturer of display products made of Ecophab™ 100-percent post-consumer recycled plastic, takes waste seriously. The company created a division, Scrappy Products, that makes The Green Bag tote from leftover scrap fabric. Each tote contains the equivalent of 10 liter-sized plastic bottles and brags about its earth-friendly characteristics. The slogan on one customer version of the bag reads, “This is my totally awesome Green Bag.”

Scrappy Products was featured in the Jan. 28 edition of Examiner.com, a dynamic entertainment, news and lifestyle network that serves more than 20 million monthly readers across the U.S. and around the world.

The totes work well for carrying diapers, books, groceries or other goodies normally carted around in plastic bags. In the U.S., 500 billion plastic bags are used each year—approximately 1,200 per person.
