Bringing up baby in Grobags

The Gro Company, a Devon, U.K., manufacturer of baby sleeping products, made a name for itself with an award-winning wearable blanket that has revolutionized how parents in the U.K. and Australia put children to bed. The Grobag wraps around the infant, with a long closed bottom for kicking little legs, and does away with blankets and sheets that can entangle or choke a baby. Grobags come in various degrees of warmth and a wide range of designs. Beginning in September, they will also come to the American market, following an agreement between The Gro Company and Crown Crafts Inc., Gonzales, La., a designer and distributor of infant, toddler and juvenile products.

“Our companies share an important commitment to providing safer and more comfortable sleep for children,” says Christian Jones, managing director of The Gro Company. Crown Crafts Infant Products subsidiary will carry Grobags and other Gro Company products, including Gro-swaddles wraps that stay snug without snaps, Velcro strips or ties; Gro-egg digital thermometers and shell covers; and the Gro Anywhere Blind, a convenient travel blind that shades an infant’s comfortable snooze in the car.
