An almost-bulletproof shoe from O.A.M.C.

Over All Mastercloth (O.A.M.C.) is a high-end clothing maker redefining men’s workwear. A project initiated by Carhartt Work in Progress, the European licensee of Carhartt Manufacturing, Irvine, Ky., strives to deliver upscale modern workwear that is fashionable and durable. One of O.A.M.C’s newest products is a shoe made by French shoemaker Atelier Heschung using lightweight Kevlar® uppers and accents of supple calfskin.

The Kevlar Radial Low shoes bring rugged to a new level. O.A.M.C. conducted a field test in a firing range with a colt M4 commando machine gun to test the shoes’ durability. The video can be found on YouTube.

The material in the Kevlar Radial Low consists of 25 percent Kevlar and 75 percent polyamide, both used in antiballistic vests, helmets and protective gear. O.A.M.C. does not claim the shoe is bulletproof, but with its tough materials, hand-sewn quality, Norwegian Welt waterproofing and stylish look, the Kevlar Radial Low may be the most indestructible footwear a working man can wear.
