The government of Honduras is investing $3.4 billion to make its textiles sector more sustainable. The money will be used to improve infrastructure, provide training programs, address energy sector issues and reduce environmental impacts. $1.6 billion will be set aside for the textile industry to invest in new equipment and technology. Better working conditions for textile workers are also part of the initiative, including housing assistance and workers’ rights legislation.
