Sciessent’s Lava XL™ awarded ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®

Published On: July 15, 2016

Sciessent LLC, a Wakefield, Mass.-based provider of antimicrobial solutions, announced that Lava XL™, its odor control technology, has been awarded the ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® certification.

ECO PASSPORT helps brands achieve or maintain a high standard for health and safety by assisting in the sourcing and use of OEKO-TEX compliant materials. Textiles and textile ingredients that are OEKO-TEX compliant are free from levels of potentially harmful substances such as allergens and carcinogens.

To gain certification, Lava XL passed two assessments driven by OEKO-TEX, including a chemical substance comparison against the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Restricted Substance List and an analytical laboratory verification to confirm the product does not contain unintended by-products or contaminants.

Sciessent is the first U.S.-based company to complete the ECO PASSPORT program.
