In memoriam: Jean Lineberger

Jean Lineberger, general manager of Cramerton, N.C.-based Brawer Technical Yarns, a division of Brawer Bros. Inc., passed away on May 27 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lineberger was a dedicated member of the United States Industrial Fabrics Institute (USIFI) and an incredible contributor to advocacy work on behalf of the U.S. industrial fabrics industry for more than 30 years.

Instrumental in the 1986 development of USIFI, Lineberger served as the organization’s first second vice chair. She was longtime chair of USIFI’s Outlook Committee, and also served the industry through her role with the Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC).

Lineberger served on the ATA Board of Directors from 1989–1995. Her passionate support and hard work brought recognition from ATA with Honored Lifetime Membership in 2005 and ATA’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2012. At this year’s Outlook Conference, she was presented with the inaugural USIFI Advocacy Award.
