About us
The Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) is the only trade association in the world representing the entire specialty fabrics/technical textiles industry. We support nearly 1,900 member companies in three country sectors and 11 defined market niches.
The world specialty fabrics market is estimated at $126 billion in 2011—$29 billion of that in the U.S. Sales growth in the U.S. is between 1.5 percent to 2 percent a year, and the industry overall is comprised of approximately 250,000 workers.

In 2010, the world market for specialty textiles grew 2–3%.
- New EPA coal ash regulations were passed. GMA estimates $300-$350 million in revenue for the U.S. geosynthetics industry over the next 5-7 years as a result.
- Nonwovens were a fast-growing market segment in the U.S., particularly geogrid and geofoam applications.
