Geosynthetics 2013, April 1–4, a trade show for geotechnical, civil and geo-environmental communities, will be held at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, Long Beach, Calif.
The four-day event features more than 100 exhibits, plus a comprehensive program of short courses, panel discussions, technical sessions and papers presented by top industry experts. Buyers and sellers can make qualified connections on the trade show floor, at receptions, luncheons and other networking events.
The Geosynthetics 2013 Advisory Committee is developing informative and relevant General Sessions, open to all registered attendees. Topics include sessions on energy/ shale gas fracking, water/resources and mining. Well-known engineering consultant Ryan Berg will conduct a session titled “Geotechnologies Toolbox: Technology Selection Guidance and Engineering Tools” on April 3.
Co-located with the annual Southwest Geotechnical Engineers Conference (SWGEC), it is also the site for the 25th edition of the Geosynthetic Research Institute’s conference, GRI-25. Geosynthetics 2013 is organized by IFAI and supported by the North American Geosynthetics Society (NAGS), the Geosynthetic Institute and Geosynthetic Materials Association (GMA), under the auspices of the International Geosynthetics Society.
Sam Allen from TRI Environmental, Austin, Texas, and Prof. Bob Holtz from the University of Washington are co-chairs for the event. David Suits from NAGS is the education/short courses chair, and Stan Boyle from Shannon Wilson, Seattle, Wash., and Prof. Shobha Bhatia from Syracuse University, New York, are the technical papers co-chairs.
