Approximately 500 tent rental professionals convened in Orlando, Fla., for the Tent Rental Division (TRD) annual Tent Expo. The event featured three days of education, exhibits and a pirate-themed party on the pad, including an all-new treasure hunt. Responses from participants show that this proved to be beneficial for exhibitors and attendees alike. In pursuit of a $5,000 grand prize, tent rental professionals stopped at every booth—talking to exhibitors, discovering new solutions and buying along the way.
“The contest helped me maximize my time at Tent Expo 2013,” said Steve Baker, Baker Tent. ”Visiting with every exhibitor allowed me to educate myself and uncover business opportunities I didn’t know existed.”
Fredrica Schaeffer, Glawe Tent and Awning, was the grand prize winner. “Because of the treasure hunt, I was able to talk with every exhibitor and evaluate options for our team,” Schaeffer said. “As a result, we made some substantial purchases and important new connections. The contest was a productive use of my time for many reasons. I was delighted to win and plan to share the prize money with our team.”
As always, the comprehensive educational schedule and networking experiences were important components and overall the response to Tent Expo 2013 has been quite positive.
Dave MacArthur, of Losberger USA, said, “The attendance was as good as it’s been in many years, and we were pleased to welcome several new faces. I think participants left feeling it was time and money well spent.”
Alex Kouzmanoff from Aztec Tents added, “The Tent Expo is always a highlight of our year. As a manufacturer we are able to try new ideas, display new concepts, and listen to the needs of the industry.”
