PAMA supports HomeStar® initiative

On March 2, 2010, President Obama gave an energy efficiency speech outlining the new HomeStar® program that will give consumers financial incentives to install energy-efficient products in their homes. The government is still identifying products to be included in the program, but Obama referenced small businesses and contractors, who will be performing the installations and hiring more workers, as key players. 

The Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA) drafted a form letter for its members to send to their U.S. representatives and senators urging them to recommend awnings as HomeStar® products, and awning fabricators as businesses that will be eligible to install awnings. The grass roots effort will help PAMA members and the industry gain attention in Washington, D.C
