I’m excited to be on the PAMA (Professional Awning Manufacturers Association) board. I’ve always very much admired the skills and business expertise that the people on the board have displayed throughout the years. Right now I’m the chair of the symposium committee for IFAI Expo, which I enjoy because I like learning and I like teaching. The workshops and symposia are almost autobiographical because they are, in fact, based on areas that I (and others) have experienced as helpful in running a business. I think if this was helpful to me, it’s going to be helpful to others in the industry.
I think one of the greatest benefits PAMA offers its members are the architectural classes. For a nominal price, members can purchase a CD to use to conduct a one-hour continuing education class for architects on the benefits of including awnings in building design. It’s a great way to build relationships with architects, build the industry and build our businesses.
