IFAI’s divisions will be hosting their annual meetings at IFAI Specialty Fabrics Expo in Orlando, Fla. IFAI division members, those who are not yet part of a division, or those who are interested in joining another division are all invited and encouraged to attend. Nonmembers may attend but may not vote. The meetings provide a forum to learn about division activities, to meet and network with each other and to discuss strategies to expand and enhance the specialty fabrics industry.
IFAI Canada invites all attendees from Canada to attend a networking breakfast Wednesday, October 23, from 9:00–10:00 a.m. The 2014 IFAI Canada Expo, Honours Program and new credit card benefits for members will be announced. Share your ideas on what IFAI Canada can offer its members.
The Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA) hosts a luncheon Wednesday, October 23, from 11:45 a.m.–2:00 p.m., where updates on energy initiatives, the architect education program, public relations and its LEED project will be discussed.
Fabric Structures Association (FSA) holds its annual meeting Thursday, October 24, from 3:00–4:00 p.m., to update attendees on what is happening within the association including the Student Design Challenge and the winners, the new website, board elections and plans for the upcoming year.
Equipment IFAI (EQP), a new division, will host its first annual meeting Tuesday, October 22, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. Topics to be discussed include the development of division programing, review of the preliminary bylaws, and defining long-range and short-term goals. IFAI members are encouraged to attend to develop and grow this new division.
Fabric Graphics Association (FGA) board and annual meeting will be held Wednesday, October 23, from 8:00–9:00 a.m. The group will discuss the ongoing collaboration with other IFAI divisions as a means to strengthen the fabric graphics market, provide relevant educational programming and create business opportunities for its members.
The Narrow Fabrics Institute (NFI) board and annual meeting will be held Wednesday, October 23, from 9:30–10:30 a.m. to discuss the recently completed commissioned market research study on the narrow fabrics industry. Other topics that will be covered include NFI strategic planning, Student Design Challenge and government relations.
Safety and Technical Products (S+TP) will hold its board and annual meeting Thursday, October 24, from 9:00–10:00 a.m., to discuss IFAI’s new Advanced Textiles Source website and digital publication, the Student Design Challenge and strategic direction.
The United States Industrial Fabrics Institute (USIFI) holds its business meeting Thursday, October 24, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. The meeting will update its members on division activities, including trade issues, government relations initiatives and other programs, such as the Outlook 2014 Conference.
