The Fabric Structures Association (FSA) celebrated its 10th anniversary at Expo in Boston. Attendees at the event heard a brief history of the association, and members described how the association has helped their businesses grow. Highlights from FSA’s first ten years include these accomplishments:
- Co-hosted the first fabric structures conference with architects as the target audience and became a certified education provider through the American Institute of Architects (AIA)
- Accepted to give CES Learning Units in the Fabric Pavilion at the AIA Annual Convention
- Codes Committee was successful in changing definitions in the International Building Code
- Developed Engineered Frame Supported Fabric Structures papers
This year FSA announced that it will develop a student design challenge program to encourage interest and innovation in fabric structures among students of architecture.
