IFF announces Innovation Award recipient

(Roseville, Minn. - October 29, 2010) - The Industrial Fabrics Foundation (IFF) recently announced the recipient of the first IFF Innovation Award. Foundation representatives announced the scholarships during the IFAI Expo Americas 2010, October 27 - 29, 2010, in Orlando, FL.

Chameleon International of Oak Ridge, NC is the recipient of the 2010 IFF Innovation Award.  The company won for a product called ChroMyx™. ChroMyx™ is a complete line of waterproof, temperature-sensitive, color changing engineered material that can be fabricated into virtually any product. The patented product line indicates temperature changes visually, and can be used to indicate hot or cold temperatures.

Chameleon continues to expand the product line by experimenting with polymers, additives, coatings, adhesives and pigments. No challenge is ever too big. They go after the impossible and make it possible.

The purpose of the IFF Innovation Award is to inspire companies from all over the world to not only come up with great ideas, but make them happen. We want to tell the stories of great specialty fabric manufacturers and suppliers who have challenged the normal and succeeded and who are leading the way to unchartered territories. We want these companies and their stories to inspire others in the industry and to act as benchmarks for the chosen few to surpass.

Innovation is the heart of creating a specialty fabrics industry that will lead us all into the 21st century. The IFF Innovation Award transforms that idea into action. Join us and help us foster the next-generation of specialty fabrics industry innovators.
