IFAI Expo Asia 2011 takes place this month at the $5.7 billion Marina Bay Sands in Singapore

Designed by the visionary architect Moshe Safdie and developed by Las Vegas Sands, the Marina Bay Sands (where IFAI Expo Asia 2011 takes place 22-25 March) consists of three 650-ft. tall skyscrapers totaling nine million sq. ft. on top of which is perched the world's first-ever skypark.

The 350-ton skypark is the size of an aircraft carrier (or 4.5 jumbo jets) and is complete with a gravity-defying cantilever observation deck, 1 150-m infinity pool, restaurants, and gardens with hundreds of trees.

Safdie says the design of the complex was originally inspired by a deck of cards. Its architecture and major design were reportedly also approved by a number of consultant feng shui masters.

The buildings include 2,560 hotel rooms, a 120,000 sq. m convention center, a mall; and an art and science museum.

If you are considering exporting and contact networking in the Asia Pacific region, IFAI Expo Asia 2011 is a great opportunity to take a look at the possibilities.

The event is supported and endorsed by the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, as part of the Obama administration's National Export Initiative (NEI).
