Highly successful technical textiles exhibition and conference returns 26-28 June 2012
IFAI Expo Asia 2012 will return to Singapore after its successful premiere in March at the Marina Bay Sands. The next show will take place 26-28 June 2012 at the Suntec Singapore International Exhibition Centre.
IFAI President and CEO Stephen Warner said that feedback on IFAI Expo Asia 2011 was extremely positive. "Many of the exhibitors told us that this trade show was a long time coming — a show in the Asia Pacific region specifically focused on the growing technical textiles marketplace." Technical textiles represent a world market estimated at $123 billion in 2010.
Participants this year were quick to praise the event and call for its continuance. "This was the show that we were missing in Southeast Asia," according to Eike Eberle, SIOEN Coated Fabrics (Shanghai). "We are definitely interested in participating again."
IFAI Expo Asia 2011, organized by the Industrial Fabrics Association International, attracted more than 1,400 registered participants from 39 countries. Large buyer delegations came from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Australia and Japan, as well as a surprising number of visitors from North America, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. The visitor survey overwhelmingly showed that participants were looking for match-making opportunities.
"We were very pleased with the results," Warner said. "The mission of our organization is to provide the marketplace for the industry to gather and exchange information. IFAI Expo Asia 2011 exceeded our expectations."
Warner is looking forward to returning to Singapore next year. "There is a tremendous interest in the region in high-performance fabrics and IFAI intends to lead the way."
