Glen Raven has introduced its next generation of Sunbrella® after three years of research and development. “The quality of the fiber, yarn, weave and finish has been greatly improved,” says Doug Dubay, awning market manager for Glen Raven. “These improvements to Sunbrella have dramatically increased the coverage of Sunbrella, reduced the number of pin holes in the fabric by 85 percent. This means improved shade and rain protection for the customer, Dubay notes. In addition, Glen Raven is launching a new heat-activated, digitally printable film that creates an extremely strong bond to the Sunbrella fabric.

SunSetter will unveil SunSetter® Oasis, a free-standing retractable awning that measures 16 by 10 feet. “The product is much bigger than any umbrella,” notes CEO Ido Eilam. “It has two legs, not just a leg in the middle.”

Somfy Systems will debut three new products: the Telis 4 Soliris RTS Patio Transmitter, which comprises a four-channel remote control with sun/wind function and one remote control for the awning, lighting, valance heat bar and sun/wind sensors; the Outdoor RTS Lighting Receiver, which controls awning and patio or deck lights with the same remote used for the awning; and the Heater with RTS Receiver, which allows users to control the heat with the same remote as their awning.
