Reasons to have retractable shade solutions

Protection from the sun and energy savings are two big reasons to have a retractable shade solution. Nationwide efforts by fabric, motor and control suppliers have helped to educate people about this, says Larry Bedosky, marketing manager at Eclipse Awning Systems® LLC Middletown, N.Y.
“Some of our suppliers shared in a recent Wall Street Journal insert that we participated in on sun safety,” he says. “It was geared toward helping educate the consumer on what sun safety is and what were their options. [It showcased] the on-demand UV protection of an awning.”
The environment is another area where education can help drive sales. “Obviously energy costs are a hot topic,” he says. “A nice green solution may be an awning or a retractable solar screen with an interior or exterior mount.”
