The Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) celebrated its 50th anniversary in its headquarters in Tucheng City, Taipei County, on Dec. 3, 2009. More than 100 prominent guests attended, including all the former chairmen.

The institute changed its name from the China Textile Institute in 2004. In 2008, it expanded to the southern region of Taiwan and established a company site at Yunlin County.

Current chairman Wang Ya-kang presented honorary awards to former chairmen for their contributions. President Bai Chi-chung held a lecture to explain the institute’s future plans and goals. Professionals from the United States, Japan, England and Sweden were also present to speak in a forum on cutting-edge technology, such as nanotechnology.
