NanoHorizons Inc., State College, Penn., and Piedmont Chemical Industries Inc., High Point, N.C., have joined forces to bring SmartSilver™ antimicrobial and moisture-management finishes and additives into a new line of polyester, cotton and nylon products. The strategic alliance between the two companies will bring NanoHorizons’ technology into a water-based compound that will be applied by Piedmont’s standard finishing equipment. SmartSilver doesn’t inhibit the finished fabric’s wicking properties, so Piedmont’s formulations will deliver permanent anti-odor benefits with moisture management.
