U.S. and Brazil textile industries form cooperation agreement

Following an April summit in Washington, D.C., the American Apparel and Footwear Association and Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association agreed to work together on trade issues that affect both countries. The cooperation agreement outlines steps such as eliminating tariff and non-tariff barriers to regional trade; taking common positions in negotiation of international agreements; sharing information about threats involving import or export of invasive species; and combating illegal and unfair trade practices, especially in the area of intellectual property rights.
