Cable system makes installation of recyclable billboards easy

Outdoor advertisers seeking new ways to make customers’ messages stick are turning to single-sheet polyethylene Eco-Posters™, recyclable billboard posters attached with high-tech cables instead of glue. Circle Graphics, Longmont, Colo., developed the unique cable system that attaches single-sheet polyethylene posters with clips inserted into pockets on the back of the Eco-Poster. The clips are attached to a strong Vectran® cable that runs along guides on the billboard structure’s perimeter. Kuraray America’s Vectran fiber provides high-strength, creep-resistant security to the cable system.

The Eco-Posters can be re-used or recycled, rapidly installed, and firmly attached without adhesives, many of which contain harmful chemicals and pose disposal problems. According to Hank Ridless, president of Circle Graphics, the new cable system will soon be installed at 100,000 locations nationwide by two of the largest outdoor advertisers.
