More than 165,000 people visited the Avalon 2009 Australian International Air Show in Geelong, Australia, March 10–15, witnessing flight displays and viewing military, commercial and special-interest aircraft. Moreton Hire, a Sydney provider of event temporary structures, had the air show under wraps with 364 tents that covered 31,000 square meters of the Avalon Airport.

“This year at Geelong, we endured some of the worst weather conditions I’ve seen,” says Elissa Gordon, event director for Moreton Hire. Extreme weather conditions of heat, rain and wind hampered installation, but on opening day the Expo area featured a combination of 40 meter wide Losberger Maxiflex structures, 10 meter wide solid wall Uniflex structures, pavilions, pagodas and Eurotops. A Chalet line 265 by 10 meters, fully glassed deck structure faced the runway, and a solid-wall Quantum tent kept the weather at bay.
