U.S. Army Corps of Engineers uses fabric maintenance hangar

Rubb Building Systems manufacturer of relocatable fabric structures, collaborated in the design, delivery and installation of a fixed-base fabric maintenance hangar for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Based at the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, the hangar is designed to accommodate a C-130 aircraft and has a clear span width of 174 feet, with a 153-foot by 46-foot six-bladed, sliding door system. The hangar will fulfill critical maintenance activities, meeting specific aircraft clearance envelope requirements, and environmental and other load conditions, including support for suspended equipment, full internal fire protection systems, fuel maintenance systems and supporting utilities. Engineered for full compliance with U.S. building code requirements for wind, snow and seismic loads.
