Fiber drywall tape fights mold

Published On: January 1, 2010

Household mold is a major indoor air pollutant, and grows in damp, humid or flooding conditions in carpets, furniture and paper-clad drywall. Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics, Grand Island, N.Y., offers an alternative to standard paper tapes used to join drywall—FibaFuse™ glass mat fiber drywall tape, an ideal choice for bathrooms, kitchens and other areas where moisture can be a problem.

FibaFuse can be used with professional drywall installation tools (tape reels, super tapers, mud tubes and more) and is lighter in weight than paper tape. Joint compound flows through the fibers, giving a stronger joint with less compound and fewer blisters and bubbles.
