Published On: April 1, 2010

AATCC’s Introduction to Textile Testing Workshop will cover tests of physical properties published by ASTM International, as well as performance tests published by AATCC. The workshop will take place April 28–29 at AATCC headquarters in Research Triangle Park, N.C., U.S.A.

Featured ASTM methods will include tests for tearing strength, pilling resistance, and abrasion resistance. AATCC instruction will focus on basic color theory and measurement, colorfastness, color evaluation, fiber identification, dimensional change, appearance retention, and water repellency and resistance tests.

The workshop provides vital theory, application, and practice for anyone responsible for product evaluation, specifications, or quality control of apparel and textile materials. Time is allotted for participants to perform many of the methods discussed and to ask questions of all instructors. Attendees will receive a copy of the AATCC Technical Manual and relevant ASTM methods. Luncheon and break refreshments are also included.

AATCC is a leading not-for-profit association serving textile professionals since 1921, providing test method development, quality control materials, and professional networking for members in about 60 countries throughout the world.
