Polyfab holds pre-trade-show workshops at IFAI Expo Americas

Polyfab USA LLC, Manhattan Beach, Calif., a manufacturer of shade sails and tensioned membrane structures, seized the opportunity to elevate the company’s profile at the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA) Expo 2010 in Orlando, Fla. Expo visitors at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) could attend pre-trade-show workshops on Polyfab product installation, then see a colorful shade sail installed on the OCCC’s second-floor pavilion.

The company approached the OCCC about an on-site demonstration and received a warm welcome—and a prospective location that received harsh sun exposure. Polyfab enlisted a team to design, fabricate and install the shade sail: Cad Effects, St. Louis, Mo., designed and engineered the sail; Polyfab USA donated fabric, hardware and webbing; W.L. Gore, Newark, Del., donated color-matched thread; and Pioneer Awnings of Orlando fabricated the shade sail and installed it one day before the Polyfab workshop. The project impressed potential customers and stimulated discussions with OCCC about further shade sail projects to protect convention-goers from the bright Florida sunshine.
