SBA introduces RFP-EZ to search for government jobs

Published On: January 23, 2013

A new experiment in government contracting, RFP-EZ, is an exciting partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the White House’s Presidential Innovation Fellows. The intent is to make it easier for companies to sell to the government, and easier for the government to buy from companies.

For companies that have never done business with the federal government before, the site is designed to eliminate concerns about getting on schedules or dealing with a cumbersome registration processes. Through RFP-EZ, a company can easily search for an opportunity, see a statement of work and bid for a project, all on the RFP-EZ site. Those interested may register and start bidding online. Bid on a variety of contracts ranging from video transcription to web design to web application development. Projects range from $3,000 to $150,000.

The SBA is committed to listening to small business owners, taking their ideas and turning them into solutions. As more is learned from this experiment, the organization hopes to expand procurement opportunities to other categories. RFP-EZ will be open for a limited time as the SBA measures its impact and determines how to best move forward. Users can provide any feedback, comments or new ideas by following the project on Twitter @ProjectRFPEZ or by e-mailing the SBA.
