Design Miami tent features intricate designs

Eventstar collaborated with New York City-based architectural firm Moorhead & Moorhead to help execute their design for the courtyard at the 2010 Design Miami Art Fair. The tent’s standard flat vinyl panels were manipulated by a simple pattern of hand-cut slits, folded to simultaneously open the panels and create a volumetric surface. The pattern was then deployed across the tent in a gradual fade, transitioning from a flat, closed surface to an airy, latticed volume. The result was an open-air, light-dappled courtyard, which served as the entrance to Design Miami. The company has provided other unique designs for this fair in the past and is currently working on the 2011 edition.
