Larson Electronics, Kemp, Texas, has announced the release of a powerful new explosion-proof LED light fixture designed to replace older style 400-watt metal halide units. The HAL-PRM-150W-LED-100 Surface Mount Hazardous Area Light features high output, weatherproof construction, 100 feet of cord, and cool operation in an explosion-proof design fitted with an adjustable flat surface mount bracket for easy installation.

The new surface-mount hazardous area light is a high-power LED alternative to standard 400-watt metal halide lamps that runs cooler and provides more reliable operation without any loss in performance. Powerful LED assembly is fitted with 30 CREE XLamp XPG® LED emitters for the highest possible performance and reliability. The LED assembly is housed within a durable cast aluminum fixture with high-strength gasket and hinged tempered glass door with stainless steel hardware for excellent protection against moisture and corrosion.

The entire fixture mounts to flat surfaces using an included U bracket that allows the user to adjust the lamp vertically once installed for optimal coverage of the target area to be illuminated. Larson Electronics also includes 100 feet of heavy-duty SOOW cord fitted with an EPP plug for ample length and secure connections. Light produces 14,790 lumens of light output in a 60 degree flood pattern. This industrial grade lighting system is approved for Class 1 Division 2 locations as well as carrying an IP65 waterproof rating and UL1598 approval for outdoor marine locations where wetness and corrosion is an issue. Unit operates with standard 120-277 50/60 VAC current and is available in floodlight and spotlight configurations
