Diamond Brand Manufacturing, Fletcher, N.C., has announced that it has been awarded an exclusive one-year contract valued at $2.75 million to produce and supply the Soldier Crew Tent to the United States Army. The contract, managed through the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support (DLATS), affirms that Diamond Brand is capable of adhering to the stringent manufacturing standards of the U.S. military. The Army tent work complements other military manufacturing contracts undertaken by Diamond Brand, including a multi-year Marine tent contract the company is currently managing.

The new contract, with first deliveries beginning in March 2014, calls for Diamond Brand to manufacture and provide 2,100 tents that meet all of the Army’s demanding four-season needs. For instance, the Soldier Crew Tent is completely waterproof and is designed to perform in temperatures ranging from -60 degrees F to 120 degrees F. In addition, the Soldier Crew Tent is a lightweight (under 100 lbs.), rapidly deployable tent (can be set up by two soldiers in under 5 minutes) that is most commonly fielded off the back of armored personnel carriers, Humvees and tanks.

One Soldier Crew Tent can sleep up to four people and is designed with two doors for easy entry and exit, utilizing fully wire-shock-corded, sturdy aluminum poles for added stability. The tent also features a tent body and rain fly that prevent the escape of light, providing protection from visual and infrared enemy detection. Fully compliant with the Berry Amendment, which mandates that military products are 100 percent made in the U.S.A.
