Cooley Group, Nantucket, R.I., manufacturer of high-performance engineered membranes, earned ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Standard Certification in August 2013 from TÜV SÜD America Inc., an international safety testing and certification firm. The certification is the most widely accepted international standard for environmental management systems. At the end of 2012, Cooley had used almost 25 million pounds of recycled material to manufacture new products, reduced its natural gas consumption by 75 percent and dropped waste generation by 70 percent. The company achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2012, making it one of the few companies to hold both certifications. For details, visit the Cooley Group website.
