Technithread increasing capacity, sales force

In October, SMI-ITS, a throwing corporation that leads the Canadian market with high-tenacity thread products, officially opened its U.S. operations under the Technithread name, offering direct-to-manufacturer purchasing for the entire product line. This follows the company’s purchase of machinery that dramatically increases its winding and spinning capacities. Technithread can now meet the demands of its primary customers in the bedding and filtration markets for its continuous filament thread. “It performs well under higher quilting speeds, creates tighter quilt patterns and produces thicker buildups,” says Herman Tannenbaum, sales representative. Technithread recently opened sales offices in Pennsylvania, Florida, Chicago and California, in addition to its warehouse in Virginia and headquarters in Cookshire-Eaton, Quebec, Canada.
