Stay safe with window film

Tips from IWFA.

The International Window Film Association (IWFA) has offered tips to protect drivers and homeowners, specifically during summer months.

Windows around a home’s entryway can be an inviting target for thieves to break into, and FBI reports have shown increased break-ins during the months of July and August. According to Darrell Smith, IWFA executive director, professionally installed safety window films may slow down a thief by holding the glass together, making it harder to get through and possibly discouraging someone from breaking in.

In addition to providing security, window film can help reduce damaging sun effects. Professionally installed window films offer skin protection by blocking as much as 99 percent of the sun’s harmful UV rays that shine through car, home or office windows, Smith says. It can also create a more comfortable driving environment by deflecting heat.
