SCORE releases new statistics in an infographic.

Small business mentoring organization SCORE has released statistics regarding the state of small business in the U.S., including changes in owner sentiment, growth in women-owned businesses, loan approval rates and SCORE’s impact.

According to data presented in an infographic, small business optimism has increased substantially since Q2 2013. Survey results found that 37 percent of the survey participants say business prospects are excellent, 45 percent say prospects are good, and 57 percent plan geographical expansion during the next year. More than half of respondents plan to increase marketing and social media efforts, and a quarter of them plan to hire for mostly full-time positions.

The research has also found that there are now 9.1 million women-owned businesses, compared to 8.6 million last year. More than 1,200 new businesses are started every day by women.
