IFAI magazines win top honors at MMPA ceremony

Awards include five gold, two silver and two bronze.

ATA magazines won a total of nine awards at the 18th annual Minnesota Magazine & Publishing Association Excellence Awards ceremony held Nov. 13 in Minneapolis, Minn.

The Excellence Awards competition was created to recognize and foster outstanding publishing achievement. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges selected and assigned based on their expertise, experience, and ability to judge entries fairly.

ATA publisher Steve Schiffman also took home the Greg Carey Leadership Award, which recognizes outstanding volunteer efforts to support the MMPA.

Gold award winners include: Geosynthetics’ “Managing nuclear power generation” article: Technical Article for an Association/Business/Trade Under 30,000; ATA: Media Kit for all publications under 60,000; Specialty Fabrics Review’s “Supporting Disaster Relief” article: Feature Design for Association under 30,000; and Specialty Fabrics Review: Overall Design for Association/Education and Overall Excellence.

Fabric Architecture won two silver awards for its “Resource Guide 2014” in the Directory-All Publications Over 60,000 category and “Idea Guide 2014” in the Single-Topic Issue, Special Section or Special Supplement category.

The Review was honored with two bronze awards for “Potable and Portable” in the Feature Article Association under 30,000 category and the November 2013 shade sale-themed issue in the Single-Topic Issue, Special Section or Special Supplement category.
