New Gore-Tex® products feature C-KNIT™ Backer Technology.

W.L. Gore & Associates has developed new Gore-Tex products with Gore C-KNIT Backer Technology specifically engineered for hikers, trekkers and free riders, offering the ruggedness of a three-layer laminate with the look and feel of a soft fabric-waterproof, windproof and breathable garments for all outdoor enthusiasts. Jackets made with the new product technology will be available at retail for fall/winter 2015/2016.

For its new three-layer Gore-Tex products, Gore combined nylon outer fabrics with a Gore-Tex membrane made of polyurethane-coated ePTFE (Gore’s proprietary polytetrafluoroethylene) and the Gore C-KNIT Technology. The three-layer fabrics are lighter, softer, more robust and more breathable than comparable previous laminates. Mountain guides, tour guides, free riders and snowboarders tested more than 100 jackets and pants (made, for reasons of comparison, of two different fabrics) for a year in snow, up in mountains, in rain and in a variety of outdoor environments.

Among brands to offer products with Gore C-KNIT Backer Technology are Arc’teryx, Armada, Berghaus, Burton, Dynafit, Eider, Haglöfs, Maloja, Mammut, Marmot, Millet, OR Patagonia, Peak Performance, Salewa, Tilak, The North Face, Volcom and Ziener.
