An estimated 180,000 employees of Schneider Electric SE, headquartered in Rueil Malmaison, France, tuned in to the company’s Leadership Forum in Paris to learn about the latest strategies to “make energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green from plant to plug.” What the multinational audience experienced was a new presentation method, the Virtual Interactive Engagement Wall (VIEW), a 40-foot-long, 10-foot-high wall of fabric touchscreen surfaces delivering a presentation conveying a coherent message, brand and image to customers.

Dimensional Communications Inc., a Mahwah, N.J., firm specializing in exhibits for auto and trade shows, museums, sporting events and corporate interiors, designed the VIEW. DCI’s Diamond System, a custom tension fabric suited to multi-user, multi-touch walls, is stretched in a sturdy metal housing. Each modular unit is self-contained and, depending on the facility size or shape, can include anything from two to seven panels. DCI provided video, computer hardware and on-site systems integration. “Multiple site visits were needed to get the project in place and to make sure it had the proper support,” says Bob Sneed, DCI vice president of multimedia technologies. Schneider Electric plans to roll out the VIEW to hundreds of locations where industry officials, government representatives and customers can see everything from the corporate story to specific offers.
