EXHIBITORLIVE!, North America’s premier event for trade show and event marketing professionals, gives marketing firms like Derse, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis., a platform to strut their stuff for an audience of 6,000. Derse’s design concept for its large booth at the 2015 EXHIBITORLIVE! featured authentic, raw-looking materials and the injunction “Unwrap the Truth.” People attending the March 2–4 event in Las Vegas, Nev., were invited to post their moment-of-truth stories on social media, an interactive option that led to moving, rueful and interesting personal expressions of truth.

The creative team wanted the look of kraft paper for the eye-catching booth headline message, but paper couldn’t stand up to mechanical and safety requirements. Enter Freudenberg Performance Materials, Colmar, France, with its versatile Evolon® microfilament fabric; the material mimics the appearance and feeling of packaging paper while being strong, printable and flame-retardant. Dimension Design, Glenview, Ill., printed Evolon’s EVO 130 PMB FR for the exhibit, impressing permanent wrinkles into the fabric to reinforce the brown wrapping paper look. Evolon media are printable with transfer dye sublimation, UV-cured inks and latex inks, and comply with industry standards for flame retardance.
