As an ATA member-exclusive benefit, the Advanced Textiles Products Division (ATP) will kick off its fire retardancy webinar series Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. ET.

Flame retardants are employed in a variety of consumer products, including industrial fabrics. Recent media coverage, coupled with the shifting regulatory landscape, is motivating interest in science, technology and policy development surrounding flame retardants.

Dr. Charles Wilkie, Pfletschinger-Habermann Professor, polymer and organic chemistry, Marquette University, will present the main topics of flame retardancy to be covered in the series. Dr. Haskell Beckham, senior managing scientist at Exponent Inc., will moderate. Future webinars will be led by industry experts and provide an in-depth exploration of the topics introduced Aug. 25.
