Snow Peak Inc., a Japan-based provider of outdoor gear, and Teijin Limited, a Tokyo-based manufacturer of high-performance fibers, plan to jointly launch a range of outdoor clothing utilizing high-performance materials developed by Teijin.

The new line includes outdoor field coverall jackets and pants made from Teijin’s Teijinconex®, a meta-aramid fiber that is temperature-resistant to over 400˚C. The clothing line is suitable for camping and general use in the outdoors and can be worn safely around campfires.

Since 2014, Snow Peak has been accelerating the development of outdoor clothing designed for both urban and country life. Teijin is targeting mid- and lower-stream markets with high-performance materials to provide hybrid solutions to meet customer demands. Going forward, both companies intend to increase their joint development efforts.
