The Fabric Graphics Association (FGA), a division of IFAI, announced the winners of the 2017 Fabric Graphics Student Design Challenge at IFAI Expo in New Orleans on Sept. 28.
Tied for First Place: Valentina Ramirez from Parsons School of Design (The New School) won for her project “Paloquemao the Colombian Fruit Markets.” Also awarded first place was Briana Turnbull from St. Catherine University, with her project “Spring Showers Reflective Bike Jacket.”
Second Place: Yuner Shao, from Parsons School of Design, for his designs entitled “There is nothing for you behind you.”
Students were challenged to design a fabric graphics installation (2-D or 3-D) for a public or commercial space. IFAI sponsors four different Student Design Challenges for students pursuing degrees in the industry, in these categories: Advanced Textiles, Awnings and Canopies, Fabric Graphics and Fabric Structures.
