IFAI Expo 2019: Growth through diversificationOctober 2nd, 2019 / By: IFAI / Category: Expo News
Bud Weisbart, vice president of AR Tech, Fontana, Calif., led the advanced textiles conference session “Growing through diversification into technical markets: from trash covers and truck covers to ground support and flight hardware,” presented Tuesday, Oct. 1, at IFAI Expo 2019 in Orlando, Fla.
The session explored how diversification based on core competencies—capabilities or advantages that distinguish an enterprise from its competitors—can help companies expand and explore new markets.
According to Weisbart, core competency is structured within AR Tech’s manufacturing company through employee retention and longevity. Retention is achieved through various approaches, such as internship and mentorship programs to empower co-workers. Diversity and knowledge have also helped to expand the company into three different markets (AR Tarp Inc., AR Tech and AR Industries).
Weisbart also stressed the importance of advocacy and highlighted AR Tech’s involvement with associations like IFAI, WCPA and its local chamber of commerce, as well as the company’s involvement with local universities and educational institutions.
