Marine Fabricators Association Great Lakes Regional Workshop Featured Practical Tips and Strong Education

November 11th, 2019 / By: / News, Press Release

Marine Fabricators Association (MFA) Great Lakes Regional Workshop was well-attended with attendees and exhibitors soaking up practical tips and gaining new insights from multiple educational sessions. The workshop was held in Marine Tops Unlimited Inc.’s 9,000 sq. ft. shop on Nov. 1–2, in Omro, Wis., USA.

Hands-on education included a demonstration of an electronic measuring tool for patterning and a step-by-step process of how to pattern a bimini frame. All in all there were seven education sessions which included an overview of boat top designs and styles for wakeboard towers including readily available hardware for a more functional, user-friendly tower bimini taught by Clint Halladay from Sewlong Custom Covers. Rob Kotowski III, Lake Shore Boat Top, shared new patterning methods, design layouts and marine flooring products that helped attendees determine whether adding a new division to their marine canvas shop was a good investment. Mitch Lemmen, Canvas Innovations, demonstrated the use of a DigiPen 3D measuring device by patterning the same bimini top as in the previous two sessions.
