Two USG Requests for Information: Domestic Textile Manufacturing PPE Capabilities

Published On: April 9, 2020

Dear ATA Members and Industry Professionals:

We want to make you aware of two new requests for information (RFIs) related to supplying PPE to the government.

FEMA RFI on PPE Ramp Up Capabilities

FEMA has posted an RFI here designed to:

  1. Identify manufacturers who have current capability to produce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
  2. Identify manufacturers who are able to quickly modify their current capabilities such as manufacturing equipment or raw materials to produce PPE; and
  3. Ability to collaborate and partner with other vendors to connect raw materials, manufacturing capability and distribution channels
  4. Make use of this information to inform acquisition strategies that may be used to support COVID-19 emergency response efforts

There is an associated excel spreadsheet to download and complete with your company’s information.  We encourage you to submit responses detailing your company’s finished product capabilities, or, if you are in input supplier, to work with supply chain partners to submit responses for finished products utilizing your inputs.

ATA understands that FEMA intends to use the information from the RFI to inform planned purchase guarantees.

Air Force Task Force Mask RFI

 The task force has posted an RFI and is specifically looking for suppliers of non-surgical cloth masks.  As detailed in the email inquiry, they are interested in masks that are similar to referenced CDC patterns but are also open to design improvements for durability that would allow for repeated laundering.  They indicate that companies that respond to the RFI may be added to a multiple award Blanket Purchase Agreement for use by the U.S. Air Force and other government agencies.
