This webinar will discuss the types of geomembranes that can be fabricated in the factory and transported to the field for installation and testing.
Factory fabrication can result in shorter construction times (and costs), higher quality seams, and a better completed liner system. Most fabricated geomembranes are less susceptible to wrinkling due to better dimensional stability and flexibility which leads to better intiment contact with the subgrade and less risk of damage or wrinkle entrapment during soil covering.
This webinar will focus on factory and field quality assurance and control testing, such as seam testing and seam shear and peel strength testing. The use of leak location surveys prior to and/or after soil covering will also will be discussed.

Dr. Stark is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) with an expertise in Geotechnical Engineering. Dr. Stark has been conducting research on geomembranes and other geosynthetics for over twenty years. He is the technical director of the Fabricated Geomembrane Institute at the UIUC.
