  2. Easily build 3D computer models of the project for client visualization and approval before any fabric is even cut
  3. Efficiently convert those same 3D models into accurate, flat patterns ready for cutting and production

All this can now be completed in only minutes, yet it results in covers, enclosures, bimini tops and upholstery that that are easier and faster to manufacture and fit perfectly. With less time required for production and no need for test-fits & alterations, greater profits are easily achieved.


Timothy Akes is the representative in the Americas for MPanel Software Solutions, LLC which specializes in fabric design and engineering software primarily for industrial fabrics industry clients.

More than 25 years of experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and hardware has given him a vast amount of knowledge on the subject. He currently provides sales, technical support and training services to more than 300 fabric-related companies in various market segments such as tensile structures, tent & awning, marine and textile exhibits. As a certified trainer he has taught more than 500 students during instructor-led events on the correct use of CAD software systems and production techniques for fabric structures.

He resides in St. Louis, Missouri where he enjoys spending time in the outdoors camping, canoeing and fishing in the Ozark Mountains.
