The Advanced Textiles Association (ATA) has appointed Mary Hennessy as its interim executive vice president effective immediately. This follows the announcement by ATA Board Chairman Peter McKernan on Oct. 24 that President/CEO Stephen Warner is stepping down from his post.

Hennessy has been with ATA for 23 years, and most recently held the position of vice president of communications and publisher of ATA’s seven industry magazines. Susan Niemi, formerly the associate publisher, will step into the publisher position left vacant by Hennessy. Said Hennessy, “ATA stands as the voice of the specialty fabrics industry as it approaches its 100-year anniversary. I am honored to be a part of the continuation of this great association.”

ATA is the largest and longest-running textile trade organization in the world, celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2012.
