Sherwin-Williams’ Global Headquarters features 10-story banner

Sherwin-Williams’ Global Headquarters has been located in Cleveland for 144 years, and the largest paint and coatings company in the U.S. (number three in the world) left no doubt about its commitment to the city and Northeast Ohio on its anniversary. “Seven simple words—Our Home Since 1866. Our Pride Forever—help us capture, harness and crystallize a powerful, energizing message that … our community is one of the best locations in the world,” says Sherwin-Williams’ chairman and CEO Christopher M. Connor. The words, on a glittering skyline shot of Cleveland, take up a banner 10 stories tall on the side of Sherwin-Williams’ headquarters.

The banner used 25,000 square feet of PVC mesh and weighs 1.3 tons. Fusion Imaging, a large-format printing firm in northern Utah, created the banner from a 1.5 gigabyte original file, using 30 hours of press time and 50 liters of ink. “We lay out the pieces here on our floor and mark them for alignment,” says Wayne Boydstun of Fusion Imaging. “Then the panels are stitched as per our engineered drawings.” The Fusion Imaging website, promotes its building wraps and other grand-scale services with the slogan “Go big or go home.” Sherwin-Williams’ adapted that message: go big and stay home.
